SUNSHINE SCHOOL is situated on a four acre
site beside the wide motorable road running from
Birpara to Gomtu Bhutan and Lankapara.
Quite away from the maddening crowd of the
town, it is an ideal solitary place for pursuing
studies undisturbed. Moreover, the fresh greenery
around and the ever changing colours of the
surrounding hills rejuvenate the weary learners.
The affairs of the Institution are managed by an
experienced Board and devoted team of teachers.

The proverbial journey ‘of a thousand miles’ begins with a
single step, but ‘that’ single step determines the road to be
taken. This ‘single step’ may require the spirit of adventure
for some, for others it may involve an element of ‘risk’. ‘That
step’ may be inspired by ‘a dream’ for some; for others just ‘a
passion’ may lead them to undertake it. With such a dream
in mind and the passion at heart SUNSHINE was established
in 1992, a single step taken to trigger the young minds for
their journey of thousand miles. We made a humble
beginning with 58 students in the first year. Every effort was
made to upgrade a class each year and our success in
achieving goals kept our spirit of striving further up. The
untiring effort of twelve years bore fruit when we were able
to obtain the Affiliation from the CISCE Board, New Delhi
in 2003.
The excellent ICSE & ISC results speak volumes of the
school’s academic discipline. The overall performance of our
children reveals that we stand shoulder to shoulder, if not
taller, in many respects, with the more established schools in
the entire region.
Sunshine has come a long way since it came into being. It
has not only achieved so many feats in such a short span of
time, but has also played a pivotal role in its contribution
towards bettering the society as a whole.
And I assure you, this Journey will continue.

In this era of globalization, education should be viewed from
a global perspective so that the younger generation will find
themselves competent in the different spheres of their lives,
Sunshine strives to create such atmosphere where the
budding kids not only achieve academic excellence but also
become responsible citizens.
Sunshine School came into existence with the sole motto to
fulfill the long felt demand for a quality educational
institution in Birpara, otherwise the children had to leave
the region, posing discomfort both to the parents and the
children.
During the glorious 33 years we have toiled day and night to
live up to our motto, “Rise and Shine”. We wish to lead our
children to majestic heights with the determined team of
teachers and support of enthusiastic parents.
Sunshine teaches students that failure is only the first step to
success and they must stand each time they fall, to rise like
the phoenix from the ashes of what was yesterday and to
soar with wings widespread in to the opportunities of
tomorrow.
Name & Motto
The name of the School itself is self explanatory.
“Sunshine” symbolises a radiating light which illumines
every corner of life. The School aims at achieving this
shining light which metamorphoses life. The members of
this School, shining and smiling, preach this very
message.
“Rise and Shine” is an encouragement to the budding kids
of this School. In order to rise and shine in life, one needs
to be devotee of discipline. Without discipline man’s life is
but a mess. Discipline is the absolute good, the ultimate
God. It is discipline alone that helps one climb the peak,
kiss the sky and even foresee future.
